Commercialization is a symptom of the bigger problem. The nature of politics elevates voices of influence above the wants and needs of the community. I fundamentally disagree with this. This is why I couldn’t help but get involved to protect my community.
I want to hear your concerns. I will always be readily available to meet and make sure your voice is heard. I will treat everyone with respect. It’s not about what I want for this community, but what you want.
Part of my plan is to bring more family focused events to Bruce Township. We have a beautiful park where we can host weekly music and movie nights in the summer. I want to unite the community and help build stronger relationships. I support positive growth in line with the interests and desires of the people.
Bruce’s leaders are focused on everything but the concerns of the people. We need leaders who will listen, and not be self-serving. Leaders who will put the interests and needs of the community above their own. We need real people in office, not self focused politicians. It’s time to get politics out of local government.
Plan to Focus On Community
- Family Focused Events – Weekly movies and music in the park throughout the summer to bring the people out together. I want to hear what events the community wants to see in our Township.
- Community Input – I want the community to take a bigger role in guiding the direction of our township. I want to implement policy that follows the communities interests and needs. We need to be more available to the community. We need to welcome and encourage the voice of the community at Board meetings without any judgement. I will be available and approachable at community events.
- Use Technology – We need to engage our community through technology and social media. Promoting family events. Digital surveys to give the community an avenue to express themselves. Mobile notifications. Making our website more interactive and practical to the community.
